Mom first, photog second

I’m Taylor. Even though I am a photographer by trade, I consider my first and favorite job being a mother. My four year old daughter is my world; and for the most part in my free time, if I am somewhere, she is also there, skipping and dancing not too far behind me.

We call Reno, Nevada home, but that doesn’t mean that our hearts do not lie amongst all the places we have traveled together— our favorite being the ocean! I am a native desert dweller, living in the baron parts of Reno my entire life. Some of my favorite smells in the world are sage brush and juniper trees, although I am extremely allergic to them and sneeze a whole bunch. I am often up in the mountains though, taking in all the smells of Tahoe and the pine trees— which I am also semi- allergic too, can’t catch a break, haha.

I love being outside and love using my days off to off road with my jeep (my second child) & hike to find rad new places to do photo sessions in. I can probably eat Mexican food for every meal of the day if it were up to me. I love binging Netflix, but at the end of the day I always turn back to the Office — which I can probably quote every line from, don’t test me. I am an an awkward person by nature, but over the year I have learned to embrace it and use it for humor and making others feel comfortable and less awkward in the process — I knew it would pay off one day!

Trust is everything

When it comes to photographing people, I have always been a big believer in making connections. THEY ARE EVERYTHING. It has always been my number one goal to get my clients comfortable and build a mutual trust between us! So how do we that? BE FRIENDS! Some of the most amazing and strongest friendships I have made throughout my life have been clients first! When clients are able to open up and truly be themselves I feel like their shoots are truly authentic. I want to get to know you guys and share interests and know your lives! When I try to think about the I would want my own photos to look like, I know I would want them to be captured in the most realistic way possible to highlight to where I was at in that moment of my life. I know I would also want to feel comfortable and confident. So, when I do someone else’s photos, I strive to do the same for them, while still making them know just how beautiful and unique they are - even if that means being on the other side of the camera being your number one hype woman!
